WHY PILATES SOCIAL

At Pilates Social we have created a community that is welcoming and fun, a space for everyone.

Our class styles are invigorating, a mix of classical and dynamic pilates. Join our community if you love to laugh and work hard. 

GETTING STARTED

If you are new to pilates we like to introduce you to the practice via an initial consultation. This private session allows us to learn about you and your body and gives us the time and space to introduce the reformer to you and pilates as a practice. 

We will begin with a postural assessment, how to engage your pelvic floor and guide you through classical exercises on the reformer to test your flexibility and strength.

After your session your instructor will guide you through our mindbody system  to enable you to book your five group sessions.  

I`M INJURED CAN I DO PILATES? 

The pilates method is one of the best practices to start if you are injured, however it is important to start with the right style of pilates.

 

If you are injured please get in touch prior to your first lesson. We need to discuss your current injury to develop a plan specialised to you. We need to assess whether group classes will be acceptable or if a private program is required. 

I AM UNFIT CAN I DO PILATES?

There is no better time to start pilates! Our beginner classes are a great place to start if you need to guide yourself into practice, these classes focus on technique and don`t include high intensity cardio. Once you master our BEGIN classes it`s time to move to our BURN classes to raise that heart rate!

HOW OFTEN SHOULD I COME?

We see the best results from 3 classes per week with a rest in between each class. As reformer pilates is a resistance training method the body requires rest in between each class. 

`Pilates is complete coordination of body, mind & spirit` (Jospeh Pilates). This practice takes time, a commitment is required.

BEGIN

Our BEGIN class is suitable for all levels of fitness, this is our open level class into Reformer Pilates. Designed with a focus on fine tuning technique this is great place to learn fundamental pilates principles.  With a high level of focus on alignment and posture, these classes are educational targeting clients who are new to reformer Pilates or who want to take it at a slower pace. Recommended for Beginners, Pre Natal-Clients welcome.

BURN

Nothing burns like a Reformer Burn! Time to plank, sweat and burn. Not your typical Pilates class! A fast-paced and intense full body workout. Ideal for those who want to blast calories whilst building muscle. Our dynamic flows will get the blood pumping.  

*Not suitable for pre-natal clients post 16 weeks

*An intermediate level of fitness is recommended

SCULPT

SCULPT is our classical Pilates practice, with a focus on control, balance and precision. We slow everything down to isolate muscles to lengthen and strengthen the body from top to toe. 

It builds your Pilates foundations and adds refinement and technique to your regular practice. SCULPT aims to strengthen and lengthen your entire body head to toe, focusing on breath, control and flexibility. 

*Intermediate class, it is recommended that you attend our BEGIN class prior to attending SCULPT
